November 8, 2023 – The Remarkable Trees Project is a partnership between Scenic Jacksonville and Hidden Jacksonville with the goal of celebrating valued “remarkable trees” and working to keep them healthy, plentiful, and beautiful.
We invite you to share a picture of a shade tree that has captured your heart and imagination, and tell us why! We aim to populate a map with a breathtaking gallery of nature’s wonders across Jacksonville. We will also share selected photos and stories via social media and in a photo gallery online.
Every tree tells a unique story, and your contribution will not only celebrate the beauty of our planet but also help others discover these hidden gems.
How it works:
1. Find a special or favorite tree that means something to you.
2. Take a picture of your tree.
3. Submit your photo and your story via this easy online survey.
4. Check out the map to see what Remarkable Trees have been added.
5. Tell your friends or forward this email to expand participation across our city.
We will populate the map with the photo and your quote about your tree. (If the tree is on private property, we can identify the neighborhood but will not identify the exact location unless we have the property owners permission.)
We will share some of the stories on social media and later create an online photo gallery for all to enjoy.
